A new identity for Europe’s largest online investment company
Naspers is a global internet group and one of the largest technology investors in the world – famed for one of the greatest investments ever made in Tencent.
In July this year, they came to Forever Beta with a brief to develop a brand name and identity for a new holding group – one that would be Europe’s largest listed consumer internet company by asset value and that would give global internet investors direct access to Naspers’ unique and attractive portfolio of international internet assets.
The biggest challenge? We only had a few months and, as most people in the branding world know, just finding an available name can take time, let alone developing a whole new brand identity to go with. But in true Forever Beta spirit, we got to work fast…
And so we introduced the world to Prosus. Based on the Latin word meaning ‘forwards’ and ‘by all means’ it was a simple, memorable name that tied in perfectly to the progressive values and vision of the company.
Once the name was confirmed we then developed a unique and distinctive brand world and identity from scratch, one that reflected the name and the vision, that was then rolled out across the business.
